RICH HOLOCH KY6R

Current position: Principal Technical Product Manager, Data Architecture at Lithium Technologies

Specialties: Distributed Data Warehousing, Parallel and Distributed ETL and ELTLT using clustered partitions (sharding), High Performance, SQL RDBMS Data Warehouse and Hadoop technologies (HDFS, Hbase and Hive). 3NF and 2NF OLTP, Kimball Star Schema and Inmon database design. Analytical data processing and report development.

Created strategic Master Data Management Plan which integrates all Lithium data flows, Meta Data and Analytics / BI Reporting systems and corrects inconsistencies in the reporting metrics. This was necessary to open the door to new innovation in the product line. Created a Product Roadmap including the project and staffing plan to maintain existing systems while developing new systems. Re-designed Lithium's Reporting Data Architecture to be more accurate, flexible and scalable. Evaluated several emerging Big Data technologies, including Hadoop / Hbase, SAP HANA, VoltDB, Infobright, Teradata Aster, LexisNexis HPCC, Greenplum, MapR, Sisense Prizm, AWS, Datameer, Karmasphere, BitYota KDS and EdgeSpring.

Delivered very high performing multi-threaded and distributed ETL and Distributed Data Warehouse management applications using horizontal partitioning (sharding) techniques across several data warehouse partitions in EMEA and the US. Currently adding Hadoop technologies (HDFS, Hbase and Hive) to the BI stack to enable a more web scale and flexible approach - using ELT (Map and Reduce) instead of ETL (Pentaho PDI).

Excellent development environment and great people creating Social CRM Software as a Service (SaaS). In the first months dropped Pentaho PDI ETL run time by 10 hours - from 24 hours down to 14. This gave us the time to re-architect several systems and scale them using sharding techniques - and then move to Hadoop based technologies. Delivered a Distributed Provisioning and Distributed Benchmarking system that computes data stored in the US and EMEA partitions (shards). Used SAP Business Objects to maintain their Reporting Universe and used Model Right for Data Modeling. Developed SQL and Stored Procedures in MySQL using Navicat.
