THE 2004 CORDELL EXPEDITIONS
PT. SUR, CALIFORNIA

SECOND EXPEDITION 8-10 Oct. 2004

We are pleased and proud to announce the successful completion of the second of the three scheduled expeditions to Schmieder Bank off Pt. Sur, and the completion of a major goal of the project. During 8-10 Oct. 2004, nine people carried out dives on the shallowest pinnacle on the Bank. Representative collections of specimens were made, including a large collection of the coarse gravel that is valuable for identifying hard-shell anomals. As before, these have been transferred to the L. A. County Museum of Natural History.
