THE 2004 CORDELL EXPEDITIONS PT. SUR, CALIFORNIA FIRST EXPEDITION 24-26 Sept. 2004 We are pleased and proud to announce the successful completion of the first of the three scheduled expeditions to Schmieder Bank off Pt. Sur, and the completion of both primary goals of the project. During 24-26 Sept. 2004, seven people carried out dives on the shallowest pinnacle on the Bank, and to the newly discovered ridge on the northwest edge of the Bank. Representative collections of specimens were made, and have been transferred to the L. A. County Museum of Natural History and U. C. Berkeley.
